The most common questions are below. If you don't find what you need, write to x-applications@protonmail.com. We read every message and reply within 48 hours.

Getting started

How do I add my first piece?

Open the Dresser tab → tap any empty category → pick a photo from your library. Forma cuts out the background and files the piece under that category automatically. For larger uploads, use Add Multiple Items from the Add menu in the Dresser header.

How do I set my try-on photo?

When you first open Forma, the onboarding walks you through it. To change it later, open Settings → Default Photo → pick a new one. A clear, well-lit, full-body shot works best. Standing pose, plain background.

Why does my try-on look different from me?

AI try-on quality depends heavily on the input photo. Quick fixes:

  • Use a full-body photo, not a headshot
  • Make sure your face and full silhouette are clearly visible
  • Avoid busy backgrounds and dramatic poses
  • If your face changes between try-ons, switch to a different angle or better-lit reference photo

If you continue seeing identity drift after a few tries, write to us and we'll help.

Try-on limits

What counts as a try-on?

Each successful AI generation counts as one. Cache hits are free. If you try the same outfit twice on the same person photo, the second one returns instantly without using a try-on credit.

What happens if my try-on fails?

Failures don't count against your monthly limit. Common causes:

  • Content filter: the model can refuse certain combinations, especially form-fitting pieces over revealing photos. Try with a fully-clothed reference photo.
  • Network timeout: usually resolves on the next attempt.

How do I see how many try-ons I have left?

Open Settings → Forma Premium. The counter resets at the start of each calendar month.

Subscriptions

How do I subscribe?

Open Settings → Forma Premium → tap Subscribe. The Apple purchase sheet appears. Subscriptions are managed by Apple, never by us. We never see your payment details.

How do I cancel?

In iOS Settings (not in Forma): your name at the top → Subscriptions → Forma → Cancel. You keep premium access until the end of the current billing period.

I subscribed but Forma still says I'm not premium

Wait a few seconds for Apple to sync the transaction, then close and reopen Forma. If it doesn't update, open Settings → Forma Premium → tap the row → tap Restore Purchases.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com within 60 days of the charge. We can't issue refunds directly because we never receive your payment.

Wishlist

Why didn't the wishlist pull in my product info?

We extract product info from the page's standard SEO tags (Open Graph and JSON-LD). About 90% of fashion retailers ship these properly. If a site doesn't, the form still opens. You can fill in name, brand, and price yourself.

Can I share to Forma from any browser?

Yes. Tap the share button on any product page → scroll the share sheet → Forma. If Forma isn't visible, tap More and toggle it on.

My wishlist Try On button isn't working

Make sure the item has either a saved photo or a remote image URL. If both are missing, the Try On button hides itself. Try re-adding the item from a URL that has an Open Graph image tag.

Lookbooks

Why does the lookbook say my wardrobe doesn't fit my trip?

We tell the planner to be honest. If you have no swimwear and ask for a beach week, or no warm layers for a ski trip, you'll see an Editor's Note suggesting what to add. The lookbook still generates with what you have. The note is guidance, not a block.

The combinations look weird

Two things help most:

  • Fill in colors for your pieces in the Edit screen. The planner uses them to coordinate palettes.
  • Add a Style Profile in Settings (e.g., "minimalist, neutral, slow fashion"). This gives the planner taste direction.

Privacy and data

Where are my photos stored?

On your device. If you turn on iCloud Sync in Settings, also in your private iCloud database. Only you can access it. We operate no backend that stores user data.

Does Forma send my photos to AI?

Yes, to generate the try-on and lookbook renders. Photos travel to Google Gemini through our privacy-preserving proxy. Per Google's API terms, these inputs are not used to train their models, and we don't log or retain them.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the Forma app. Local data is removed immediately. If you used iCloud Sync, also visit Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Forma → Delete Data.

Known limitations

This is an early version of Forma. A few things to know:

  • AI try-on may occasionally regenerate features differently than your reference photo. Try a different reference if it happens consistently.
  • Background scenery in your reference photo can leak into the try-on. Plain backgrounds give cleaner results.
  • The wishlist URL scraper doesn't work on sites requiring login.
  • Some retailers (Farfetch, SSENSE, Mytheresa) sometimes block our scraper. You can still fill in details by hand.

Thank you for using Forma.
