Privacy policy.

Forma is a personal wardrobe and virtual try-on app for iPhone and iPad. This policy describes what data Forma handles, where it's stored, and which third parties see it. We've kept it short on purpose.

What Forma stores on your device

When you use Forma, the following stays on your device under Apple's standard app sandbox:

  • Photos of clothing items you add
  • Your full-body try-on photo
  • Outfits and lookbooks you generate
  • Wishlist items (URLs, names, prices you've saved)
  • Settings (style keywords, presentation preference)
  • Try-on cache (results of previous generations)

This data is not transmitted to Forma's servers. We do not operate any servers that store your data. Forma has no user accounts and does not require sign-up.

iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable iCloud Sync in Settings, the data above is also stored in your private iCloud database, accessible only by you across your own Apple devices. We have no access to your iCloud data. Apple's iCloud privacy terms apply: apple.com/legal/privacy.

iCloud sync can be turned off at any time. Disabling it removes the cloud copy on next sync.

Third-party AI processing

When you use the Try-On or Lookbook features, Forma sends the following to Google's Gemini API for AI generation:

  • Your try-on photo
  • Photos of the clothing pieces involved
  • A text prompt describing the desired output

Google processes these images only to generate the try-on result. Per Google's API terms, prompts and inputs to the Gemini API are not used to train Google's models. See Google's API privacy terms: ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms.

Forma routes these requests through a privacy-preserving Cloudflare Worker proxy that strips identifying request metadata before forwarding to Google. We do not log, retain, or have access to the photos in transit.

For users who opt into Fashn rendering (currently a developer-only setting), the same photos are sent to Fashn.ai instead. Fashn's terms: fashn.ai/privacy.

Wishlist URL scraping

When you paste a product URL into the Wishlist, Forma fetches the page to extract title, image, and price. The request is sent directly from your device. No browsing history is recorded or transmitted to Forma.

Weather data

If you enable the Weather filter, Forma uses your device's location once per session to query Open-Meteo's free weather API. No location coordinates are stored after the query completes. Open-Meteo's terms: open-meteo.com/en/terms.

Analytics and tracking

Forma does not include any third-party analytics SDKs, tracking libraries, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting. We do not measure your usage. We have no way to identify you as an individual user.

Subscriptions and payments

If you subscribe to Forma Premium, payment is handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We receive only the anonymous transaction status (subscribed / not subscribed). We do not see your name, email, payment method, or billing address. Apple's privacy terms apply.

Photo and camera permissions

Forma asks for permission to access your photo library and camera so you can add items and set your try-on photo. These permissions can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Forma. The app will still work for already-saved items, but new captures and try-ons require the relevant permission.

Data deletion

To delete all Forma data:

  1. On your device: Delete the Forma app. All local data is removed.
  2. In iCloud: If sync was enabled, also visit Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage → Forma → Delete Data.

There is no separate account to close.

Children's privacy

Forma is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll update the effective date above. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect.
